Alexander Suvajac
Alex believes that knowledge in sustainability practices and principles breeds empowerment and improved livelihoods. In 2007 Alex spent time as an intern at Wanaca Eco Cultural Foundation, Students for Development, Baguio City in the Phillipines where he was able to put this belief to the test.
Alex has a Bachelor of Design with a Major in Industrial Design from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Canada. He was awarded the Graduation Exhibition Design Award at Emily Carr for his work in the Philippines. His photography has been exhibited around the world and won awards, including the 2005 AGFA Award for Excellence in Photography.
Jennifer Leski
Jennifer has a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia, Canada. She believes very strongly in the importance of stepping back from everyday life to take time for oneself maintaining a sense of self-worth and remaining happy and healthy in mind, body and spirit. ‘Happiness is the highest power and the real key to wellness. Women making time for themselves is imperative.’
Amy McDonald
Amy lives in Melbourne where she runs a small writing and editing business from home. She also makes short films and writes a regular zine, In My Own Room. Her short fiction has been published internationally and won awards in Australia. Her photographs and woodcuts have appeared in Eye on Peace and Climate. As a qualified horticulturalist and devout environmentalist, Amy believes in the importance of getting back to nature as a way of reconnecting with what really matters.
Amy has had a strong connection with Thailand since her father moved there in 1998. She has been fortunate to spend time in Huay Sara Phom, sharing festivals, weddings, births and seasonal celebrations with other villagers.
