Vānaprastha is the third stage of life, acting as a bridge between the householder stage and the stage of renunciation. This period involves stepping back from everyday life, usually in a forest setting, to focus on spiritual reflection and readiness for the final stage of life. In this 5-part series, I’m sharing stories from Yoga that are set in the forest, where things can be shadowy and unclear, more mystical and nuanced. Part one is a story of ensuring you’re focussing your attention on the things that really matter, and not spending your time agonising over things you simply can’t change. Enjoy!
