You may already have done a lot of inner work.

Perhaps you've practised Yoga or meditation for years. Maybe you've attended retreats, studied Buddhist or Yogic philosophy, read widely, or developed a spiritual practice that is deeply meaningful to you.

And yet, you may still find yourself struggling.

Perhaps you're anxious or overwhelmed. You're navigating grief, a relationship difficulty or a major transition. Old patterns keep showing up. You understand intellectually what you're supposed to do, but knowing something and actually being able to live it are not always the same thing.

Sometimes insight isn't enough.

Sometimes we need a safe, human relationship in which we can slow down, explore what's really happening and understand ourselves more deeply.

That's where counselling can help.

You don't have to choose between psychology and spirituality

I believe psychological therapy and spiritual practice can complement one another.

Eastern wisdom traditions can offer profound insights into suffering, attachment, compassion, impermanence, awareness and the nature of the mind. Counselling gives us a different kind of space to explore our emotions, relationships, experiences and patterns of behaviour.

I don't believe you need to leave your spiritual beliefs at the door when you come to counselling.

Nor do I believe every difficulty needs to be interpreted through a spiritual lens.

Instead, we can explore what is happening in your life with curiosity and care, drawing on the approaches that are most useful to you.

You might feel at home here if...

  • You've been practising Yoga or meditation for years but still feel stuck in certain areas of your life

  • You're interested in Buddhism, Yoga philosophy, Vedanta or other contemplative traditions

  • You've done a lot of personal development and are wondering why some old patterns remain

  • You're navigating anxiety, overwhelm, grief, loss or a significant life transition

  • You're struggling in a relationship or finding it difficult to communicate what you really feel

  • You're tired of trying to think your way out of emotional pain

  • You're looking for a counsellor who understands the value of spiritual practice without reducing everything to spirituality

  • You want somewhere you can be honest about what is actually happening, rather than feeling that you need to be calm, positive or 'spiritually evolved'

You don't need to identify as spiritual to work with me. You simply need to be curious about yourself and open to exploring what might help.

A space to be understood, not fixed

Counselling isn't about me telling you what to do.

It is a collaborative process in which we explore what is happening in your life, what may be keeping you stuck, and what you need in order to move forward.

My approach is warm, thoughtful and practical. I'll listen carefully, ask questions, challenge you when it's useful, and help you develop a clearer understanding of your thoughts, emotions, relationships and patterns.

You don't need to arrive with everything figured out.

You can simply arrive as you are.

My approach

I draw from a range of counselling approaches and tailor our work to you rather than applying one method to everyone.

My counselling work is informed by my formal training as well as more than three decades of practising and teaching Yoga and studying the wisdom traditions that have shaped my understanding of human experience.

I've been practising Yoga since I was eight years old and teaching since 2009. Yoga isn't simply something I teach. It has been a longstanding part of how I understand the mind, the body, relationships, suffering, change and the possibility of living with greater awareness.

That experience gives me an understanding of Yoga and contemplative communities that goes beyond professional familiarity.

If Yoga, meditation or Eastern philosophy is part of your life, you won't need to explain why it matters to you.

Why I do this work

I'm particularly interested in the space between insight and lived experience.

We can understand ourselves very well and still find ourselves repeating the same patterns.

We can know intellectually that we need to let go and still feel unable to do so.

We can understand impermanence and still be devastated by loss.

We can practise compassion and still struggle to offer it to ourselves.

This is not a failure of your practice.

It is part of being human.

Counselling offers a place to explore that gap with another person, with honesty, compassion and curiosity.

Ready to talk?

If something here resonates with you, you're welcome to book a counselling session.

You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need to know exactly what you need help with before you book.

Sometimes the first step is simply having somewhere safe to talk about what's going on.

Bookings are available Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am–9pm Melbourne time.

Once you select your preferred time and date, you'll be taken through payment as part of the booking process. I'll send your Zoom link with your calendar confirmation once your booking is complete.

Please note that I have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of your scheduled session will be charged in full.
