Brianna Patten is a Delaware-based writer and podcast host whose work investigates spiritual abuse and centres the experiences of survivors. Her podcast, Surviving Satchidananda: The Dark Secrets of an International Yoga Movement, has reached thousands of listeners in over fifty countries. She is currently writing a biography of Yogaville founder Swami Satchidananda, exploring his life, the history of the global community he built and Integral Yoga's legacy in mainstream American yoga culture.
Having visited Yogaville many times myself, I reached out to Brianna wondering whether our paths might even have crossed over the years. I was delighted when she agreed to join me on the podcast to talk about her experiences, her work and what lies ahead. I hope you enjoy this conversation.
